NO TIME!!

Well, since I have not a serious post since last Friday, I have a lot to fill in. The weekend was so LONG, and not in a good way!! Of course, we all battled Fay! We were planning on doing our usual Saturday night dinner with Ben, Alicia, and DJ. We had to run to Winn-Dixie to pick up somethings on our way over and as we turn back into our neighborhood we say a change reaction of green fireworks (transformers blowing up), suddenly there was no power. Well, we headed on over to their house and waited a bit, then decided to cook (luckily most of us here have gas stoves) it was interesting to cook in the candlelit dark! No of us got sick so the pork chops must have gotten done! Well, after waiting for about 3 hours for the power to come back on, all 10 of us headed over to DJ's trailer to watch Nim' s Island in the A/C. After checking several times (calling Ben and Alicia's house to see if the answering machine comes on) we all crashed at DJ's! Sunday morning our power still had not come on! Finally around lunch time that power had come back on.

Now, lucky for us, we have another storm that we will soon have to survive. We will have to watch the projected path. Hopefully, it will not rain on our party at Alicia's Monday evening. I am waiting until closer to time to buy the stuff to make potato salad for about 30 or more people.

Zach woke up with a fever Monday night, so I did not get to go to class yesterday. I did take him to the doctor and he said that there was a little fluid in his ear and some sinus issues and gave him an antibiotic. He ran fever again last night so even though he seems better today, he still can't go to school until he is 24 hours fever free. Daddy may have to stay home with him tomorrow if he is still feverish because I don't need to miss back to back classes.

Well, aside from cleaning, laundry, kids homework, our homework and actually having time to go to the store since I didn't go to class is all we have been doing. CRAZY BUSY is now the description of my life!

That means we only have 1 female and 3 males left!!!! I have some people coming tomorrow to look at the puppies and are interested in a male! Leave a comment if you are interested!!

I took them to the vet yesterday and they are all healthy and growing! Right now, they range in size from 4.7 pounds to 3.9 pounds. They will be 5 weeks old on Thursday! My house smells like a dog kennel! I will make you and awesome deal!! Please help me and spread the word. They are looking forward to having a new home! I can e-mail pics also, if you want them.

The Week in Review and the Future

Well, week one of school is behind me and I have a lot ahead! The same goes for Todd. He has several project due next week that he has to get done this weekend. I don't have as much but I still have quite a bit to do. I am enjoying school more now that I am going to classes. I also feel like I am learning much more!

Zach had football practice Thursday and everything went well! I am just not how sure I am about all the yelling at little 6 and 7 year olds. I am told that it is part of football, but I am just not too sure about it. Zach has decided that he likes to hit rather than be hit......smart kid! We will practice three times a week for an hour and a half.

Savannah will start taking tennis lessons next month and Tuesdays. We are going to be so busy. She will only practice once a week and for an hour. We have decided to give up Brownies. I am really sad about it. I told her that we would find her a new troop, but that there was no way that I could be the leader again. Most of my girls were not coming back or moving up to Juniors anyway. I hope that she will change her mind and want to continue with another troop.

I am the Box Top chairman for Savannah's school, so please clip those box tops and send them my way!

Morgan is doing pretty good in school. I know that she is enjoying the new program that we are using this year. She does all her work on the computer! It makes everything a little easier for everyone!

Morgan is wanting to learn to play the guitar. We are thinking that might be a good birthday present for her. We will see.

Yesterday after we picked the kids up from school we went in search of new computers. I had a laptop from Todd's Dad and the kids knocked it down and busted the screen. Well, I connected the laptop to the monitor on the desktop and was able to use it, but I had to stay in the girls room. It could be fixed but it was not worth the money. Todd's computer has never worked right since the day we bought it. We actually ended up sending it back to Compaq once to get something fixed. Well, with three people in the house doing school work, on basically one computer, we needed to do something that worked. We saw at Office Depot that they had laptops on sale and then a rebate to go along with the sale price. So we went and bought two new laptops with Todd's school money! I hope that later we don't regret it, but I was tired of staying up so late and having to hurry because someone else needed the computer. WE LOVE THEM TOO, they work like the stupid Compac was supposed to! We are going to let Morgan have the old laptop to do her school on and I think that everyone will be happy and more productive.

Well, today is house cleaning day----we have no clean dishes, homework day and we hope that the rain stops long enough for us to go to the Prattville Game tonight! We have lots to do so I am going to go get Todd up! Have a good weekend!!

I DID IT!!!!

Yesterday was my first day at AUM!! I was a nervous wreck! I was nervous about going to class. Up to this point, I had been taking Internet classes and did not have to go anywhere. Now I have to be somewhere on time. I was also worried about being a 30 year old mother of 3 taking classes with 18 year olds! I thought about not going, but what would that accomplish? Well, I went into class! I did it! It was not so bad! I have a lot of work ahead of me. It was actually enjoyable!

Todd also started school and also has a lot of work ahead! He already has projects due!

Zach's football coach called and we start practice Thursday! WoW things are so busy so I there are not any new post you know why.......we are studying!

The Last Few Busy Days!

Well, the last few days have been crazy busy! So much for hoping that when school started everything would settle down, we are even busier now!

Zach had football evaluations on Thursday and Friday! Today he had a football camp that the Prattville High School coaches held! I think that he is going to be pretty good at it (don't most parents?) and might even enjoy it more than baseball! We will see! We are excited about football season starting, Prattville has their first game Friday night!!

Today Alicia, Morgan and I got up EARLY and headed to Dothan. I have used the same lady to cut my hair since I was in the sixth grade and it is a little hard to change. I trust her completely!! Well, my appointment was at 8:00, so we had to leave Prattville at 6:00! We had a good time on the way down there and even found a store (The Barn in Ozark) that was having a closing sale (that we just HAD to stop at on the way back!) We also made a pit stop at Larry's for lunch and Sikes and Kohns for some more shopping! I think that I am going to like my "new" hair! I got it highlighted, but it looks more like completely colored (BLONDE or as my kids say GREY!) I have not had a hair style that I actually had to "fix"! We will see if I can keep it fixed!

After we got back from Dothan we met the guys at the Buckmaster's Expo. Talking about a lot of people, you could hardly walk and look! We bought some sharp knives that are never supposed to get dull. We really bought it because it had this "tool" in it to make curly fries!

Well, that brings us to the current time and I am going to watch Micheal Phelps swim and then I am going to bed! GO USA!!

I Am Interested!

I am interested in who reads my blog. I very rarely get any comments :(, so I can only guess by looking at the Live Feed over on the side. Please leave me a comment from time to time, so that I know that you are reading.

Wacky Wednesday!!

Well, with the start of school things have calmed down and I really don't have that much to blog about. I was asked to go and help Zach's teacher and Kristina with a little art project today, so I did that. Morgan continued to work on her school work. The kids still seem to enjoy school, although I think that it is more the routine that they enjoy!

Todd and I have really enjoyed watching the Olympics. We end up staying up until they go off and the news comes on! We are hooked.

Zach has football try-outs tomorrow. Everyone makes it, it is more for placement than making the team. He is so excited. Tomorrow is helment only and Friday night is full pads. We love football and we are so excited to see him finally play.

Well, that just about wraps everything up for this Wacky Wendnesday!

It's Raining, It's Pouring, I Want To Be Snoring!

Well, I start back to school in exactly one week. I am so nervous! I know that everything will be fine, but I am a nervous wreck! We went Friday and bought our books! Luckily for me, I am right behind Todd and can use most of his books! That saves a lot of money!

It is raining today! More misting, but a steady mist! I am so glad because that makes the day much cooler for Todd and the garden was needing a good watering. It is supposed to continue to rain all day, so I guess I will need to go take a good nap.

The kids are still doing well with the new school schedule! It seems as soon as we start to settle into a routine it changes. Zach is starting football! We went last night and bought all of his equipment. Ben and Alicia picked up his helmet for me. They found some in Birmingham for $40 compared to the $70 that we thought that we were going to have to spend! Needless to say, after buying game pants, practice pants, practice jerseys, shoes, shoulder pads and a cup (does a 6 year old need a cup????) we have everything and have about $250 less in the bank! Todd's mom agreed to pay for about half, so a BIG THANK YOU, goes out to her! I am still having a hard time believing that is cost that much for a 6 year old to play football (that was not even with the $70 registration!) Todd told him that he better be the next great thing to hit the Auburn Plains!

The kids went to Dothan over the weekend and Todd's parents took the kids to Panama City (it was a 2 purpose trip, Todd's dad needed to go to the "junk yard"!) They had a great time!

Sunday night we went to Fultondale and went to church where Todd's cousin goes and then we went to a cookout/sing at a local park there. We really enjoyed it. Morgan enjoyed it also because we were singing camp songs.

Well, that just about brings us back to this sleepy, rainy day!

Back on the Swing of Things

Well, the kids had a good day back at school! We have a tradition in our family where at dinner Todd goes around the table and asks each of the kids how their day was and what they did. We usually get the full scoop then, even though sometimes we have to drag it out of them. Last night was just the same. We heard all about their day and their new friends. I think that we are really going to have a great year!!

Todd, Morgan (she doesn't do school work on Friday), and I went to AUM this morning to get out parking decals and our books. Luckily, I am right behind Todd and can use the books that he has already bought! I am excited, but nervous since I have been taking all online courses, going to class is going to be very different!

Well, the kids are going to Dothan this weekend (Todd's parents had to switch weekends), so we will have a quiet weekend, but a busy one, we are planning on cleaning out the shed! FUN FUN FUN!!

First Day of School

Here in Autauga County, schools are back in session! Here is a picture of Zach and Savannah getting ready to leave. We had no problems getting out the door and to school, other than the traffic! I think everyone in Prattville takes their kids to school the first week and traffic is terrible!

Zach was ready to go this morning, he was up before Todd left for work. He was also a little excited by the fact the tooth fairy left him $3! He picked his clothes out himself! I walked him and he went straight to his desk. I can't wait to pick him up and hear all about his day!

This is his teacher Mrs. Wingo. I think that he is going to really like her, she always seems upbeat and energetic! I think that he is going to have a great year!

Savannah was excited about starting third grade this morning! I know that she is going to have a good year! She has always enjoyed school and learning. I am excited to hear about all about her first day of third grade!

This is Savannah's teacher Mrs. Jackson. She is very nice and soften spoken, just the kind of teacher that Savannah needs.

Well, Morgan has already been doing school work for about 2 weeks! She is loving the new computer program that we are using and seems to be doing very well. I am kind of glad that she is home with me. It has made the first day of school a little easier......I have not shed any tears!

Fountain of Fun!

School starts back tomorrow! Usually summer drags on and on for me, but this summer seemed to fly by. I guess that it could be that Morgan went to camp this year and we had a week without her, it could be that we did a lot of things this summer and were out of town quite a bit, or it could be that my kids are getting a little older and do not need me to entertain them as much. Overall, I think that we had a pretty good summer.

Well, today the kids had dentist appointments. Savannah had no cavities, but has to go back for sealants and she has a 3rd degree bit and HAS to go see an orthodontist in a year or so. Morgan had 3 cavities and is ready to go to the orthodontist in the next year or so. Zach had 2 cavities and needs to go have sealants. While we were there they pulled 2 of Zach's teeth. He is pretty excited about the tooth fairy coming tonight! I am sure that our othrodontist is going to love us!

Well, after the dentist we went and had Zach's name put on his bag. The lady that usually does it for us is wonderful! We always love going out to her house/shop, she has the neatest things. Then we headed to the mall to meet Christie, Jordan and Seth for lunch (love Chick-fil-a coupons!) and to return a shirt at GAP.

Well, after lunch we took the kids downtown to the Riverfront to a fountain that they have for the kids to play in. Todd and I saw it a last year when we went to Jubilee to see the Goo Goo Dolls. I wanted to take the kids there last year, but we never made it. I figured today that I would make the trip to Montgomery worth it and go. They had a blast!! We were the only people there and they ran around and had a really good time. My favorite line fo the day was from Zach when he said, "This is what I have been dreaming of!' That made it worth the trip. A little fun to end the last day of summer, was a good thing! Well here are a few pictures from our founatin of fun today!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Well, the kids start school Thursday and I cannot wait to get back into a regular schedule. We have finished all of our shopping and we are just trying to get everything in order (rooms and toys dentists appointments tomorrow.) We have been putting the kids to bed at 8:00, but they are not going to sleep until after 9. I am wondering if we should move the bed time back some, but Savannah needs her sleep. I guess we will experiment with it some.

We had Zach's orientation last night and Savannah's will be this afternoon. We are happy with the teacher that Zach has gotten this year, but at the same time we were a little disappointed that he did not get the same teahcer as Morgan and Savannah. Here in Prattville, we always have a teacher consideration card to fill out and the Principal at the Primary School is good about placing siblings in the same class, if requested. This has always been the case with us. Morgan and Savannah had the same wonderful first grade teacher, however, Zach was not placed with her. He was placed next door to a teacher that she mentors and does a lot of the same things. We are happy with the teacher that Zach is going to have this year!
Well, after much stress and worrying, we finally found out the Savannah's teacher is Mrs. Jackson. We personally do not know anything about her, however, we have heard nothing but good things about her! I think that we are going to have a much better 3rd grade year than Morgan had! I think overall at this point, aside from a few disappointments, we are happy with the teachers that the kids have this year.

Morgan has already started school and is doing everything on the computer. She loves it and is doing pretty well. (She has a great teacher!!)

We had a busy weekend. Todd was off again on Friday, so we took advantage of the work day for others and the sales tax holiday (Prattville waived the city tax also, so we paid no tax at all!) We got all of our shopping done Friday and everywhere that we went was not too busy!

On Saturday, we went to my parent's house in Clanton for my sister-in-law's birthday! We had a really good time and the "kids" played in the pool. After we left there we headed up to Mountain Brook to the Whole Foods store. I have been wanting to go and Todd said that we could go ahead and go since we were that close to Birmingham. We bought a few things, but everything was still kind of expensive.

Sunday, we went to a different church. We loved it. The people were super friendly. The kids enjoyed it. We are going to go back Wednesday night. We are actually looking forward to Wednesday night, so that makes us feel good, because we have not felt that way in a long time!

Well, I guess that just about brings us to today. I have to go up to Savannah's school early and work the APT (also known as the PTA) table for the fourth grade orientation before Savannah has hers. I also need to take Zach's school tote bag somewhere to get it monogrammed. (The school requires the kids have tote bags, until third grade. This year the Primary School's bags are purple!! Zachary would not have anything to do with that. I was talking to his teacher ( I know her from being at the school so much!) and told her that I could not believe that the bags were purple and Zach did not want to have a girl bag,and I was going to go and buy him a different bag, she told me that she had a black bag left over from a few years ago, so he has a black bag and he is very happy about that!!
